Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-06-14
Omnia Data Analytics LLC (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates WordPuzzleGenie (the “App”). We respect your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how it’s used, and the choices and rights you have.
What we collect
WordPuzzleGenie collects the minimum information needed to generate puzzles, save your library, and keep the App working.
- Themes you submit. The themes you choose or type are sent to our generative AI provider (currently Anthropic) for puzzle generation. Every game mode — crosswords, word searches, hangman, and unscrambles — is generated from your theme in the same way and collects the same information. The themes themselves and the puzzles produced are stored in Firebase Firestore so you can replay them and sync them across devices.
- Account information (optional). If you choose to Sign in with Apple, we receive your Apple-provided user identifier and, optionally, an email address (which may be Apple’s private-relay address). Signing in is only used to sync your library — the entire App is usable without an account.
- Purchases. If you subscribe to Premium, RevenueCat processes the purchase on our behalf and stores the subscription state against your anonymous user ID. We do not see your payment details — those stay with Apple.
- Usage and diagnostic data. Firebase Analytics records aggregated product-interaction events (e.g. “a puzzle was generated”), and Firebase Crashlytics collects crash reports. These include a device identifier but are not linked to your account.
- Content-moderation events and reports. When a theme you submit is automatically classified as not suitable (e.g. sexual, hateful, or weaponized content), we log the theme, the classification reason, and a timestamp against your anonymous user ID so we can review moderator accuracy and detect abuse. When you tap “Report this puzzle” in your Library, we store the puzzle’s theme, generated content, your user ID, and the timestamp for human review.
What we do not do: we do not sell your data, we do not share it with third parties for advertising, and we do not use it to track you across other apps or websites.
How we use your data
We use the information described above only to:
- Generate puzzles in response to your themes
- Filter user-submitted themes through an automated content moderator and review user-submitted reports
- Save and sync your library across your devices
- Process and verify Premium subscriptions
- Diagnose crashes and prioritise improvements
- Communicate with you when you contact us for support
We do not sell your data, run third-party advertising networks, or perform automated decision-making with legal or similarly significant effects on you.
Third-party services we use
The App relies on these processors. Each has its own privacy commitments:
- Apple — Sign in with Apple and App Store / in-app purchase processing. See Apple’s privacy policy.
- Google Firebase (Firestore, Authentication, Analytics, Crashlytics, App Check) — data storage, anonymous authentication, diagnostics, and abuse prevention. See Google’s privacy policy.
- RevenueCat — subscription state management. See RevenueCat’s privacy policy.
- Anthropic — the generative AI model that both classifies user-submitted themes for safety and produces puzzles from approved themes. Every theme you submit is sent to Anthropic for moderation, and approved themes are sent again for puzzle generation. Anthropic states that API inputs are not used to train its models by default. See Anthropic’s privacy policy.
Data retention
We retain the data described above for as long as it serves the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by law:
- Puzzles and themes in your library — kept until you delete the puzzle in the App or close your account. Deleting a puzzle removes it from Firestore within 30 days.
- Account information — kept while your account is active; deleted within 30 days of account-deletion request.
- Subscription records — kept for the period required by tax and accounting law (typically 7 years).
- Diagnostic and analytics data — aggregated event data retained up to 14 months; crash reports retained up to 90 days.
- Moderation logs and user-submitted reports — retained for accuracy review and abuse detection, typically no longer than 12 months unless an active case requires it.
To request earlier deletion of any data we hold about you, email info@omniadataanalytics.com with the subject “Privacy request”.
Children’s privacy
The App is rated 9+ on the App Store. The rating reflects that AI-generated puzzles may occasionally surface themes about historical violence, illness, or other mild educational topics that may not suit very young children. The App is otherwise family-friendly: no in-app communication, no third-party advertising, no user-to-user content. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The App requires no account or email for any core feature; the optional Sign in with Apple flow is age-restricted by Apple. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information to us, please email info@omniadataanalytics.com with the subject “Child data” and we will delete it promptly.
Your rights
Regardless of where you live, you may always request access, correction, or deletion of your personal information by emailing info@omniadataanalytics.com with the subject “Privacy request”. We will respond within 30 days.
If you are in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom (GDPR)
You have the right to (a) request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, (b) ask us to correct inaccurate data, (c) ask us to delete your data (the “right to be forgotten”), (d) restrict or object to certain processing, (e) port your data to another service, and (f) lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority. The lawful basis for our processing is your consent (for optional sign-in) and our legitimate interest in operating, securing, and improving the App.
If you are in California (CCPA / CPRA)
You have the right to (a) know what categories of personal information we collect and how we use them, (b) request deletion, (c) request correction, (d) opt out of any “sale” or “sharing” of personal information (we do not sell or share for cross-context behavioural advertising), and (e) non-discrimination in exercising these rights. You may exercise these rights by emailing the address above.
International data transfers
Our service is operated from the United States. When you use the App from outside the US, your information is transferred to, and processed in, the US and other countries where our processors operate. We rely on Apple’s, Google’s, RevenueCat’s, and Anthropic’s contractual safeguards (Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent) for these transfers.
Security and breach notification
We use industry-standard safeguards (TLS in transit, encryption at rest by our processors, server-only writes for entitlement state via Firebase App Check and Cloud Functions). No system is perfectly secure; if we discover a personal-data breach that is likely to result in a risk to your rights and freedoms, we will notify the relevant supervisory authority within 72 hours and notify affected users without undue delay.
Cookies and analytics tracking
The App is a native iOS app and does not use browser cookies. Our marketing website (this site) does not set any cookies, run analytics, or track you across sites.
Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Material changes will be highlighted on this page or in the App. Continued use of the App after the effective date of a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
